Bulgaria to receive more than 6 billion euros
The European Commission has an interest in
Bulgaria joining the EU as scheduled in January 2007, Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski said yesterday. Oresharski met EC Regional Policy deputy director-general Jean-Charles Leygues to discuss the final set of reforms
Bulgaria has to work on before the issuing of the final EC report. The EU pre-accession funds will be given on the condition
Bulgaria shows the capacity to use them properly. At the same time Finance Ministry representatives said new regulations on financial control will be accepted. The first new law will focus on financial guarantees. It will regulate the work of institutional investors such as insurance companies and pension funds. Another law will regulate the activities of companies operating in more than one country.
